NATALIE PORTMAN: ABOUT

General credits:
All the work here on this site, including writing, graphics, design, Perl programming and general maintenance is - and was - done entirely by myself - Geir Friestad.

A lot of credit should of course also be given to all the individuals out there on the net who took the time and effort to type in (or OCR-scan) magazine articles, scan photos, create Quicktime movies and post rumors and news on the Usenet and webservers. I can't credit each of you individually, but I would like to extend my thanks to all of you in general.

Reasons for doing this:
Why set up yet another Natalie Portman site, and why bother registering a whole new domain name just for this purpose?

Well, the first question is easily answered: First of all, I'm very impressed by Natalie - she's a very talented and promising young actress, and I enjoy paying attention to her career. Secondly, I like to create graphics and designing websites, and I figured one more page about Natalie couldn't hurt. It could perhaps help bring even more attention to Natalie as an actress, and it would give me a good excuse to waste some spare time putting together another website.

As for the domain name; I'm a system administrator, so registering a new domain name and making it operational wouldn't give me much trouble. Obtaining the domain portman.org and giving the web server natalie as the hostname seemed like a cute idea, so I did it. :-)

Counters:
Some of you have mailed me and suggested that I put up a counter. I don't believe in counters, since there's no way - for a visitor - to know exactly what the counter is counting, so I feel it's a waste of time. However, there is a stats page for those of you who are really interested in the statistics. It's much more comprehensive than a counter, and is also a more honest representation of the number of accesses.

Other stuff:
If you have any comments about the site, or new information about Natalie that you would like to share, I'd love to hear from you.

I've got a bunch of e-mail addresses, but the safest one to contact me on is probably geir@origo.no, since I check this one pretty much every day. I can't guarantee I'll have time to reply right away, but I'll do my best.

Looking forward to hearing from ya!
