Everyone Says I Love You
Summary of the movie:
Woody Allen's entertaining homage to the old Hollywood musicals tells the story about a family of rich liberal Upper East Siders, and are involved in the lessons of life as though it were a musical from the 1930's. The extended family of liberal lawyer Bob (Alan Alda) includes a do-gooder wife (Goldie Hawn), daughters, son, grandfather, German maid, stepdaughter and even the ex-husband. While the story concerns love and engagements, a number of scenes are set in music to the traditions of the old musicals where lines would lead into songs and dances.
Natalie plays Lauren, one of the daughters of Alan Alda, and she, like most of the rest of the cast, gets to sing a little bit at one point during the movie.

My personal opinion of the movie:
I've never been a fan of Woody Allen or his movies, so I watched the movie with a somewhat skeptical attitude, but this delightful musical comedy quickly won me over.I always liked the old style musical genre (as opposed to the over - the - top stuff Disney keeps pumping out these days), and Allen's movie managed to capture that same feeling of innocense and joy most of the time.
The movie is in an aspect ratio of 1.85:1, which I felt was a little too small for some of the musical acts, as the frame occationally tended to get fairly crowded and cramped. Having shot this movie for an aspect ratio of 2.35:1 would have been better. It's a minor complaint, however.
In the end, I enjoyed watching this movie very much, but like "Heat," it's probably not worth watching for Natalie alone, as she doesn't have a really big part in this movie.
